Valerii Kyrylko: On the Readiness of Ukrainian Business for Eco-Industrial Parks at the EIP Forum 2025
On April 10, 2025, the Ukrainian Eco-Industrial Parks Forum 2025 took place at the Hilton Hotel in Kyiv — a key event in the field of sustainable industrial development, organized within the framework of the Global GEIPP II Programme implemented by UNIDO with the support of the Government of Switzerland.
The forum brought together representatives from government authorities, international organizations, businesses, and the expert community to discuss the future of industrial parks in Ukraine in the context of green transformation and post-war recovery.
One of the speakers at the event was Valerii Kyrylko, Director of the “Industrial Parks of Ukraine” group of companies. He participated in Panel Discussion V — “Readiness for the Next Step in the Implementation of Eco-Industrial Parks in Ukraine.”
Valerii Kyrylko is one of the leading experts in the field of industrial park development and commercial real estate in Ukraine. He heads the “Industrial Parks of Ukraine” Group, which has become the undisputed market leader in providing services for the development of industrial parks across the country. Under his leadership, the company has developed more than 50 industrial park concepts, registered 33 industrial parks, and collaborates with 28 parks throughout Ukraine.
Key Points from Valerii Kyrylko’s Speech:
- The potential of Ukrainian businesses in implementing eco-industrial park principles;
- Motivation of investors and management companies to transition to sustainable industrial practices;
- Key barriers companies face when introducing eco-models;
- The need for government support, clear rules of the game, and long-term policies;
- Examples of successful cases and promising directions for industry development.
The panel discussion focused on practical steps needed to overcome the challenges faced by market participants. Attendees had the opportunity to exchange views on the development of eco-industrial parks as platforms for sustainable production, innovation, and regional growth.
Special emphasis was placed on the importance of a comprehensive approach to creating eco-industrial parks: from legislative frameworks to the involvement of municipalities, international partners, and business entities themselves.
The EIP Forum 2025 once again confirmed that Ukraine has strong potential to implement circular economy principles. Through synergy between government, business, and the expert community, it is possible to create a next-generation industrial park ecosystem.
