As part of a business tour of industrial parks in Western Ukraine, which we are conducting jointly with the Ukrainian Cluster Alliance, I visited two of the three operating industrial parks in the city of Lviv. These were the Industrial Park “Formattsiya” and the Industrial Park “Sparrow”.
I believe that for the Ukrainian industrial park market these are two examples of how industrial parks should be created. And although these parks are at different stages of implementation, both are examples of the correct approach to organizing and implementing industrial parks.
IP Formattsiya is a municipal industrial park, initiated by the Lviv city administration. But the real life of this park is provided by the management company Alterra Group, which is one of the most active and powerful players in the industrial park market of Ukraine. The entire area is being actively developed, several buildings are already operating.
This is one of the few management companies – developers, which, in addition to the technical characteristics of the facilities, pays attention to their appearance and the creation of an eco-system of industrial parks. Everything is very creative, high-quality and impressive.
IP Spartow is a private industrial park, which has already been built on two-thirds of its 20 hectares. The initiator and owner of the industrial park is a development company that has considerable experience in the construction of industrial and warehouse facilities. They approached this project with an appropriate approach. They built as if for themselves, qualitatively and soundly. All the built areas are filled, the tenants are actively working. Infrastructure, facility services are impressive in their quality. Also very impressive, relevant in our time, was the built shelter for the workers of the industrial park.
For the tour participants, among whom were also foreign guests, these excursions were very useful and informative. And this is only the first of three days of the tour, more to come.
